Off to Scandinavia

Yay !!! We leave soon for three weeks in Sweden and a few days in Oslo. It's been 26 long years. I am very excited ! Besides seeing family and friends there will be knitting related highlights ! First will be meeting a master knitter, expert in Märta-Stina techniques, in Medelpad. Hopefully will learn some about patterns from that province. Next will be a trip to the museum in Härnosand to see Märta Stina pieces. What else do museums have ? Gift shops of course !! I hope to buy a kit or two from the Katarina Brieditis collection. Thanks Carol for the contact and thanks for suggesting the museum in Falun too! On our way to Säffle I hope to stop in Borås to see the Britt Marie Christofferson exhibit at the Textile Museum. Then I get to meet Barbro ! This will be alot of fun ! It will be great to see all she's done and talk knitting !

Getting organized

My parent's used to love to go thru junk shops and antique stores looking for bargains to transform. My mother painted this quaint cupboard which was recently moved to our home. I'm now using it to organize my stash. This is a long overdue project !

Recent additions-
Thank you Heather
for the lovely
homespun and basket
from Cortez Island, BC.

Friday was a fun jaunt North with Karen to the Alpaca Farm and LaConner. This hand dyed Alpaca came from Jennings Yarn Shop. I don't know what I'm going to do with it but it is just lovely.

It's been years

It's been years since I've knit a sweater but now I'm inspired by Chris at Weathered Wool and Lorna's Laces yarn to make one for Lee. Chris suggested a great book called Arans and Celtics. We picked Sage as the color. It is such a wonderfully soft yarn. Took a cabling lesson and now hope to get a good start on it during our vacation !
